Product Specifications

WindowKit is a lightweight emergency replacement window system designed for rapid deployment in conflict-affected and disaster-affected buildings. The system restores thermal performance, weather protection, daylight, and occupant safety when conventional glazing is unavailable or impractical.

The system consists of a uPVC extrusion frame with dual internal glazing grooves and two independent PET glazing layers installed in parallel. Integrated gripping features within the frame create continuous perimeter retention and sealing.

Structural System

Frame: Structural-grade recyclable uPVC
Glazing: PET sheet, 0.70–0.75 mm thickness per layer
Seal: Integrated mechanical grip with no liquid sealant required

Material Composition

Assembly is tool-light and non-specialist. Four uPVC extrusion members are cut to size, after which the first and second PET panels are inserted into separate grooves. Integrated tooth features secure the glazing and form an air- and water-tight perimeter seal.

Assembly Method

The dual-layer PET configuration is designed to restore habitable indoor conditions by improving thermal insulation, reducing uncontrolled air infiltration, and preventing rain and snow ingress. Transparent glazing also restores natural daylight where board-up solutions fail.

Thermal & Environmental Performance

Unlike conventional glazing, PET is shatter-resistant and does not fail into hazardous sharp fragments. When damaged, the material is designed to deform or tear rather than explosively fragment, reducing secondary injury risk in blast-affected environments.

Impact & Safety Behavior

The system is designed for maintainability in the field. PET sheets can be replaced in situ without replacing the full frame, and the assembly can be disassembled for cleaning, drying, and moisture management. PET and uPVC components can also be separated and recycled post-use.
