Justice as the Foundation for Peace
A conversation with Oleksandra Matviichuk and Lord Moore of Etchingham
On 12 June 2025, Oleksandra Matviichuk spoke at the House of Lords in a discussion chaired by Lord Moore of Etchingham.
The conversation focused on the human reality behind the tens of thousands of war crimes documented since Russia’s full-scale invasion and the principle that lasting peace cannot exist without justice.
During the closing Q&A, Matviichuk spoke about Ukrainian children illegally deported to Russia. She concluded by presenting Lord Moore with a book by the late Ukrainian writer Victoria Amelina, who was killed by a Russian missile while documenting war crimes.
Insulate Ukraine was honoured to help facilitate the event.
