Ampleforth College hosts Insulate Ukraine talk & pledges £10,000

On Tuesday 2nd May, founder Harry Blakiston Houston came back to his school, Ampleforth College, to deliver a talk to Year 12, the local Society members and parishioners on his work with Insulate Ukraine.

‘Harry has been instrumental in using his engineering background to create simple solutions for Ukrainian families replacing windows that have been destroyed during the war, leaving them without any protection from the elements. There are 10 million windows that need replacing and he and his team both in Ukraine and the UK are working hard to deliver as many temporary solutions as possible, using simple technology. He spoke very movingly about having a Compass for Life and letting that guide what you do and how you live.
Well done Harry, it was inspiring to hear you speak.’

Ampleforth College has pledged a generous donation of £10,000 to support Insulate Ukraine’s work in the Kharkiv Oblast.

As well as giving the talk, Harry was able to meet two student from Ukraine, currently studying at the college.
